You can reach the museum through the front of the town hall, where you will find the museum’s reception desk as well as that of the tourist office. MOU is within walking distance of most tourist attractions.
You can safely park your bicycle in the racks provided. There are bike racks on both sides of the town hall, which is within walking distance of node 96 (in Hoog- and Nederstraat) of the Flemish Ardennes cycling network.
By bus
Several buses stop right at the museum. Get off at Oudenaarde Markt (170m) or Oudenaarde Tacambaroplein (350m).
Groups arriving by bus can get off at the Smallendam car park for a maximum of 15 minutes. Afterwards, the bus can park in the dedicated car park on the Donk, near the city center.
By train
Oudenaarde is on the direct line, Brussels – Kortrijk and Ghent – Ronse. Oudenaarde station is a 10-minute walk from Oudenaarde Town Hall. Walk down Stationsstraat, continue along Tacambaroplein and then continue via Nederstraat until you reach the town hall on the right side of the Market Square.
By car
From Brussels or Ghent, on the E17 heading towards Kortrijk, take exit 8 De Pinte to N60 in the direction of Oudenaarde/Nazareth. After about 20 minutes, take the Oudenaarde exit.
Parking is free at De Ham, Woeker and Meerspoort car parks, all less than 10 minutes’ walk from the museum. Paid parking is available on the Market Square and Tacambaroplein.
MOU is accessible to people with physical disabilities. The rooms can be visited via a lift. Only the tapestry room is not accessible via a passenger lift, but via a platform lift. To use this, it is important that you inform reception so that an attendant can operate it (the attendant is located in the part that is not accessible to the public).
