Our Lady’s Church of Pamele
The Pamele Church shines in all its glory on the right bank of the Scheldt. It is extremely rare for a proud lady to reveal her age. Exceptions, however, confirm the rule. On the outside of the remarkable ambulatory, there is a bronze plate with the inscription: "Arnulf van Binche 1234". A reference to the master builder. This imposing building is a striking example of Scheldt Gothic, a Romanesque-Gothic transitional style.
Nice to know: Margaret of Parma was christened in this church.
