The third house in this row is the House Cambier, the former refuge of the Priory of Our Lady ter Walle in Elsegem. In the 16th century, it was the official residence of the town governors. After the French Revolution it became a brewery, Cambier-Droesbeke. Currently, it accommodates a lawyer’s office, a restaurant and the Chamber of Commerce. |
