Picturesque villages
There are many picturesque villages in the Flemish Ardennes, all with their own individual charm and all definitely worth a visit.
- Kerselare with its modern chapel is a famous place of pilgrimage but is also well-known for its delicious ‘lekkies’, special handmade sweets from the confectioner Jan of Ghent.
- Mater, a charming rural village, with the Saint Martinus church, the Saint Amelberga chapel, the Tissenhovemolen, the Zwadderkotmolen and local brewery Roman.
- Mullem, an authentic castle village, with a very charming town square, the Bekemolen in the area and its turbulent military past.
- Ename with its archaeological park (Provincial Archaeological Museum), the Saint Laurentius church and the forest of Ename.
