Modern Tapestries Exhibition by Ildiko Dobranyi
A modern tapestries exhibition by the Hungarian artist Ildiko Dobranyi (1948-2007) opened in House de Lalaing, Oudenaarde’s restoration workshop, on September 13.
Nature is the dominant theme in her tapestries (details of grasses, trees and foliage) and colour an important element. Film, photography and computer technology have clearly influenced her work.
Her primery goal was to promote Hungarian tapestry art, which looks back on a great tradition, both nationally and internationally.
